TCS Win State Honors in the Robotics RCX Virtual Tournament

The Todd County Central High School and Todd County Middle School Robotics Teams competed in the state championship of the Robo Challenge Xtreme State Tournament.  The RCX Program offered Virtual Tournaments of RCX Challenges for the 2020-2021 school year.

Todd County Central High School RCX Team Robo Syth Lords won Best Score for High School Team in the competition. Todd County Middle School RCX Team Robo X won Middle School Best Video. Teams competed virtually against other elementary, middle school and high school robotics teams in Kentucky.

Robo Challenge Xtreme (RCX) is a challenging, yet fun way for students to expand students’ knowledge of math and science through a challenging robotics competition, according to a press release. The students also strengthen their teamwork, communication, computer programming, and problem-solving skills.

Teams compete with autonomous robots that they have designed, built and programmed to complete missions on the field. Points are scored by completing as many missions as possible in a three-minute time period. This year’s theme was a Retro throwback “Mission Horizons.”
