Mr. Ross graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1958 and was a member of the 1958 NCAA Championship Team. In the same year, he became head basketball coach at Elkton High School. In 1963, Mr. Ross became the first head basketball coach at Todd County Central High School. At both schools, his teams accomplished a 75-percent win rate. He was athletic director at Todd Central from 1970-1984, and principal from 1985 to 1991. Mr. Ross also served his community as an Elkton City Councilman and as supervisor for the building of the Elkton-Todd County Park.
