TCCHS 2017-18

Dear parents/guardians of TCCHS students:

As summer break draws to a close, I would like to welcome all of our new and returning students to Todd County Central High School! The faculty and staff are busy preparing the school and classrooms for an exciting year of learning and growth.  We are looking forward to hearing about your summer adventures, getting caught up with returning families, and meeting our newest Rebels. As we move into the new school year, TCCHS will host a Back to School night during the first semester.  This will be an opportunity for you to visit and tour the school as well as meet your TCCHS teachers and staff. More information regarding our Back to School night will follow at a later date.

We truly anticipate an exciting year academically for TCCHS. During the upcoming year TCCHS will be offering new courses and expanded career and technical education (CTE) classes and pathways. The Health Science program offerings have been expanded, providing students more career options and hands on experience and training in the health fields. Working in conjunction with Hopkinsville Community College, classes are being offered at Todd County Career Path Institute in Welding, Computer Aided Drafted, and Electricity.

Several important pieces of information are listed below. Please read over these to ensure that you and your student are aware before the 1st day of school.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL: On the first day of school, August 9, all upperclassmen will report to their advisory teacher and freshmen will report from the main entrance to the auditorium. All students will receive a folder containing their schedule, paperwork and forms required by the school district to be completed by parents and signatures from parents and students in some cases. It is of the utmost importance that all forms are completed, signed and returned to your student’s advisory teacher by August 14th. There will be a letter explaining what needs to be returned and what is yours to keep. The first day of school activities include an orientation and school tour for our freshmen class.

SCHOOL START/DISMISSAL TIME:  Students will not be permitted to enter the school until 7:30. TCCHS start time is 8:00 school dismissal time is 3:00 for all bus riders and 3:05 for car riders, student drivers, and student walkers. Parents are asked to observe the parking/NO PARKING signs and not park in the bus lane at dismissal time. Parent pick up and drop off is on the South side of the building, closest to the football field. In order to ensure a safe and orderly dismissal, please use the parent pick up line and continue to wait for your student, outside the school and in your car at dismissal time. Unless riding the bus, students are not to be dropped off or picked up in any other area. Parent Pick-up and car riders / walkers will exit the building after busses are dismissed.

STUDENT PARKING PROCEDURES: On the 1st day of school all faculty, staff, and students will park in the front parking lot.  The front parking lot will be divided into three sections.  The front section closest to the school will be reserved for all faculty, staff, and guests.  The middle and back sections will be reserved for our student drivers.  At school dismissal time our student parking lot will be divided into two sections.  Students who will be leaving school and headed North to town or to the TCCHS annex will exit on the left side entrance by TCHA.  Students leaving and heading south towards Trenton will exit leaving the right side entrance by the football field.  Students will need to park accordingly each morning to assure we have a smooth and safe dismissal process.  Parking permits will be sold on Monday, August 14th. Please bring the required documents to purchase a parking pass.

The above information is listed to help our school year begin smoothly. Please continue to check the Todd County Central High School website for handbook information and important dates as the school year begins. I know that I have your support and thank you for your cooperation.  If you have any questions regarding the above information, please do not hesitate to contact me. There will be more information given to the students at the beginning of school and during the year.
