7th Period Virtual English II Class
Course Description
This class is a Virtual class, meaning the students in this class signed up as virtual learners for the school year. You are expected to login to your Google Classroom every class period as Virtual Learners. We will be meeting on Google Meets at 2:17 pm. This link can be accessed from your Google Classroom link listed at the top of the page in the header.
This is primarily a Standard English II class with the exception of one or two freshmen English I students placed in the class. With that being said, we will be closing the gaps with your learning by incorporating a few texts from freshmen English including the following: To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee and Shakespeare's play, Romeo & Juliet.
Our first unit is a short story unit including stories by Edgar Allan Poe. We will resume your learning from Spring Semester earlier this year by reading, Rome & Juliet. The curriculum will be mapped out to include topics covered in your history class, i.e. when you are covering the Holocaust, we will be reading, Night.
We will also be writing narratives, speeches, creative writing pieces, and a research paper. I will teach you MLA Format which you will need for college English classes.
